A New Era for Dunn DIY
It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone, and what a year it’s been! In 2025, Dunn DIY officially surpassed more than a decade of being a place to dream, design, build—and make it yours. From backyard benches to custom bookshelves, we’ve loved sharing projects that make our customers’ homes a little more beautiful and their lives a little easier.
Celebrating over a decade of Dunn DIY
Year after year, Dunn DIY has been a labor of love supported by incredible people. Focused on bringing renter-friendly DIY ideas to our customers, Kirsten helped put Dunn DIY on the map with approachable gardening, décor, and home projects anyone could tackle. Todd brought a homeowner’s perspective—diving into larger builds and more advanced projects, and leading our product-focused video series where he walked the aisles of Dunn Lumber to spark inspiration straight from the store shelves.
And last but certainly not least, countless Dunn Lumber employees rolled up their sleeves to share their own expertise and perspectives—showing what make it yours really means in everyday life, and how DIY can take many forms across different homes, interests, and lifestyles.
All of that passion and teamwork has brought us to where we are today—so let’s take a look back at some of the key moments that made Dunn DIY what it is.
The milestones that shaped Dunn DIY
2014: Dunn DIY launched (in a tiny Seattle garage) as a small but mighty team dedicated to empowering homeowners to take on practical projects themselves.
2017: We opened our very first DIY studio, giving us the space to film tutorials, test projects, and grow the team behind the camera.
2019: We renovated the studio, expanding our creative capabilities and welcoming new faces behind the scenes.
2020: During COVID-19, we adapted our content to focus on DIY projects that brought comfort, creativity, and connection to everyday life—helping people make the most of time at home.
2024: We celebrated our 10-year anniversary with a look back at our favorite projects, milestones, and makers.
