Big Brothers on Ice - Dunn Lumber Hockey Club
Local hockey recreation league team, Dunn Lumber Hockey Club, is skating with a cause.
DLHC, through the Big Brothers on Ice campaign, aims to provide a prevention-focused resource for boys who respond well with a male role model to guide, cheer and coach them.
More than 80% of children waiting for a Big Brother are boys, but only three out of every ten inquiries to volunteer come from men. Research shows that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in the life of a boy.

| The captain (Marc Fournier) posts a message on Craig's List each year looking for families in dire straights and then has the tough job of choosing the recipients (almost 100 responses). They were able to help 4 very worthy and appreciative families this year (2008). Marc has put together a team of great people with big hearts that represent Dunn Lumber in a way that we can all be very proud of. |
